  • 1931 Born in New York City
  • 1948 Graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Brooklyn, N.Y.
  • 1951 Graduated from the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture
  • 1954 Co-founded Push Pin Studios
  • 1971 Elected to the Board of the American Institute of Graphic Arts
  • 1975 Appointed member of Alliance Graphique Internationale
  • 1975 Co-founded Push Pin Press
  • 1976 Editor and publisher of the Push Pin Graphic
  • 1983 Co-founded Push Pin Editions with Steven Heller
  • 1984 Inducted in the New York Art Directors Club Hall of Fame
  • 1985 Director of the Pushpin Group
  • 1990’s Created cut out sheet metal sculpture, exhibited widely
  • 1994 initiates series of illustrations for Frank Rich of the New York Times
  • 1996 Launched a periodical, The Nose, Steven Heller, editor
  • 1997 Master Series Award and exhibit, School of Visual Art
  • 2004 The Push Pin Graphic, a Quarter Century of Design and Illustration is published
  • 2016 At War With War is published; a paperback version appears the following year
